In order to meet the demands of various shooting environments, a high-capacity and flexible shooting equipment is crucial. The original CRANE 3 LAB, being the first-generation gimbal with built-in image transmission, was designed with filmmakers in mind. However, ZHIYUN believed that it could be further improved to adapt to strict and unpredictable filming conditions. Hence, the new CRANE 3S was created, boasting a modular design for wider application and intuitive control.

Greater Flexibility with Extendable Roll Axis

The goal of wider compatibility is achieved through providing flexibility. Users can attach an extension module onto the roll axis for larger cinema camera combos, allowing for more space. On the other hand, for smaller DSLR combos, the extension module can be detached for enhanced portability.

Broader Vision with Properly Calculated 55° Tilt

The 55° tilted roll axis provides a broader view without obstructions, enabling the mounting of large cinema camera combos with ease.

More Ambitious Camera Setup

Featuring brand new SUPER motors, the CRANE 3S can support a payload of up to 14.3lbs for a wide range of camera setups. The compatibility extends to cameras such as RED Dragon 5K, Canon EOS 1D, Sony FS & FX series, and more. The Zero Swinging feature ensures the camera's security, with a locking system that prevents swinging of the three axes.

Improved Zoom & Focus System

To cater to cinematography needs, larger lens supports have been added to the zoom & focus system. The focus wheel comes equipped with a whiteboard for marking focus ranges, while zooming can be achieved synchronously through the SmartSling Handle (Servo zoom/focus controller sold separately).

Continuous Uptime Supported by PowerPlus

CRANE 3S offers a DC-IN port for direct charging with up to 25.2V input, ensuring continuous uptime for prolonged shooting sessions.

Triple Control Options

Filmmakers have three control options available with ZHIYUN gimbals and TransMount Image Transmission System: control from the gimbal, smartphone, or motion sensor controller.

ViaTouch 2.0 for Seamless Control

ViaTouch 2.0 allows for intuitive adjustments to camera and gimbal parameters through a dedicated phone app, enhancing synergy between devices.

Stay Focused All the Way with TransMount Image Transmission System

Supporting zoom/focus control via a phone app or remote controller, the TransMount Image Transmission System ensures filmmakers can stay focused on their shots.
